TACOMA, Wash. – Freshman
Callie Simmonds had 13 kills and senior
McKenzie Pfeiffer added 12 as the Pacific Lutheran University volleyball team moved to 4-0 in the Northwest Conference standings after defeating George Fox University, 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-11) on Saturday night.
In the first set, the Lutes (7-6, 4-0 NWC) scored five straight points to give them an early 8-4 advantage, but it was their ability to kill Bruin momentum that allowed them to win the first frame 25-21. George Fox never scored more than three straight points for the entire set.

Hailey Iha kill knotted the score and
Halle Hetzler recorded service aces on three of the next four points to give PLU a 21-17 advantage. The Bruins tied the score, but PLU scored four of the next five, including two kills by Simmonds to put the home team up 2-0.
PLU broke a 3-3 tie in the third set by scoring 12 of the next 13 points to cruise to the sweep of the Bruins.
The Lutes hit .252 as a team on Saturday compared to just .113 for George Fox.
Emily Dulaney was busy with 39 assists, seven digs and an emphatic kill. Hetzler was all over the back line with 22 digs and
