FULL ALL-NORTHWEST CONFERENCE TEAMS
TACOMA, Wash. – Cole Dobson was named the Northwest Conference Defensive Player of the Year on Wednesday.
Dobson was also named to the all-conference first team and was joined by a whopping five other teammates.
The Lutes (18-3 overall), who open the NCAA Division III National Tournament at 7:30 p.m. CST on Saturday at Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas, also had two players on the second team and three honorable mention.
Dobson helped anchor a defense that allowed just 18 goals in 21 games and shutout five opponents.
Dobson, junior goalkeeper Nicholas Gaston, junior midfielder Craig Johnson and senior forward Cris Lozano were all named to the Northwest Conference first team for a second consecutive year.
Sophomore forward Trevor Thompson was first-team for the first time, while junior midfielder Robby Guyer was honorable mention a year ago.
Senior defender Alex White was named to the second team after being on the first team in 2021, while Sammy Tafolla earned second-team honors for the first time.
Sophomore defender James Del Carmen senior forward Archie Caldwell both were named honorable mention for the first time. Senior defender Ryan Griffith was named honorable mention after being on the first team a year ago.
Willamette's Sam Adelman was coach of the year and midfielder Pierce Galloway was offensive player of the year. Whitworth midfielder Tyler Wisen earned freshman of the year honors.
