WALLA WALLA, Wash. - Hampus Pers Eliasson suffered his first setback of the calendar year on Friday night as the Pacific Lutheran University men's tennis squad fell 7-0 to NAIA Lewis-Clark State College in a neutral site match at Whitman College.
In doubles play, the Lutes' (2-2) No. 1 tandem of Pers Eliasson and
Michael Campbell had their first blemish of the spring, falling short 6-1 to the Warriors' (5-5) tandem of Larry Magalasin and Cade Edwards.
Alex Richter and
Drew Kraft provided a stiff test at No. 3 but ultimately came up short, 6-4.
In singles play, Campbell fell, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 while Pers Eliasson dropped to 3-1 on the year with a, 6-0, 6-4, defeat at the hands of Austin Swing at No. 2.
"The Lutes ran into a very tough Lewis-Clark team on the road at Whitman. It was a good warm-up for matches against Whitman and Whitworth over the weekend," said Head Coach
Paul Koessler.
The Lutes remain in Walla Walla, facing Whitman College tomorrow at 11 a.m.
