TACOMA, Wash. – The Pacific Lutheran men's soccer team opened the 2022 regular season with a resounding 4-1 victory Thursday against Highline College at East Field.
Cole Dobson,
Cris Lozano,
Trevor Thompson and
Joe Camp all scored to lead the Lutes to the nonconference victory.
Coming off a season that saw them advance to the national tournament and win a game, the Lutes return nearly everyone and that showed Thursday.
Dobson opened the scoring in the ninth minute off a corner kick by
Ryan Griffith, heading the ball home.
Lozano doubled the lead less than four minutes later, scoring on a breakaway where he rounded the goalie. He was sprung on his run by
Robby Guyer.

Thompson opened his account in the 46
th minute, scoring an unassisted goal, while Camp added the fourth in the 68
th minute on an unassisted goal.
Highline scored in the 81
st on a Juan Mendez bicycle kick.
The Lutes are back in action at 7 p.m. Saturday against Marian University at East Field.
