TACOMA, Wash. – The Pacific Lutheran men's soccer team opened the 2022 regular season with a resounding 4-1 victory Thursday against Highline College at East Field.

Cole Dobson, Cris Lozano, Trevor Thompson and Joe Camp all scored to lead the Lutes to the nonconference victory.

Coming off a season that saw them advance to the national tournament and win a game, the Lutes return nearly everyone and that showed Thursday.

Dobson opened the scoring in the ninth minute off a corner kick by Ryan Griffith, heading the ball home.

Lozano doubled the lead less than four minutes later, scoring on a breakaway where he rounded the goalie. He was sprung on his run by Robby Guyer.

Thompson opened his account in the 46^th minute, scoring an unassisted goal, while Camp added the fourth in the 68^th minute on an unassisted goal.

Highline scored in the 81^st on a Juan Mendez bicycle kick.

The Lutes are back in action at 7 p.m. Saturday against Marian University at East Field.
