Volleyball Headed to Michigan for NCAA Championships

TACOMA, Wash. — The Northwest Conference regular season and tournament champion Pacific Lutheran University volleyball team is heading to Holland, Michigan for the NCAA Division III Tournament after the field of 64 was unveiled on Monday morning. 
 
The Lutes (19-7) face Carnegie Mellon University (Pa.) in the opening round. PLU makes the bracket as one of the 42 automatic bids while the Tartans make the tournament as one of the 21 at-large selections. PLU's taking part in the eight-team regional hosted by Hope College. 
 
The winner of the PLU-CMU match will play the winner of Transylvania University (25-6) vs. University of Mount Union (20-8). The other side of the regional pits host Hope (27-2) against Bethany College (20-7) while Case Western Reserve University (22-8) squares off against the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (22-9). 
 
This is the Lutes' 13th NCAA Tournament appearance and first since the 2018 campaign. The Lutes previous played in the national tournament in 1999, 2004, 2006-2009, 2011-2014, and 2017-2018. 
 
The NCAA Tournament begins on Thursday with match times TBA.
