TACOMA, Wash. — Pacific Lutheran University Head Football Coach
Brant McAdams announced staff promotions for three assistants heading into the spring ball and the 2024 fall season.
Ketner Kupp is promoted to defensive coordinator,
Spencer Crace is promoted to assistant head coach in addition to his duties as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, while
Zach Willis is promoted to recruiting coordinator in addition to continuing his duties as offensive line coach.
"As we continue to develop our roster and our program to continue to compete for a spot at the top of the Northwest Conference, I'm excited to promote these three coaches who have consistently developed as better and better coaches each year at PLU," said Head Coach
Brant McAdams.
"I know they will keep pushing to be better for our players in their elevated roles within our staff."
Crace is promoted to assistant head coach after five seasons in Luteville. His offensive unit this fall had six All-Conference players and led the league and ranked 12th nationally in third down conversion percentage.
Kupp is promoted to defensive coordinator after serving as a linebackers coach the last three years while Willis '19 earns the recruiting coordinator title after three years as an offensive line coach.
PLU finished the fall with a 5-5 record and a 4-3 mark in Northwest Conference play. The Lutes had 11 players earn All-Northwest Conference honors this fall, including
Nico Golla who ranked eighth nationally in sacks and was named All-Region from D3football.com and an Academic All-American from College Sports Communicators.
The Lutes open the 2024 season on Sept. 7 in California against Simpson University before squaring off against Concordia College (Minn.) in the home opener at Sparks Stadium the following week. PLU opens the Northwest Conference slate at home on Oct. 5, welcoming defending champion Whitworth University to Sparks Stadium.
