WALLA WALLA, Wash.— The Pacific Lutheran University volleyball team fell to a tough road opponent in the Whitman College Blues 3-0 ( 25-17, 25-21, 25-9) on Saturday night.
Before today's game, PLU sat in third place in the Northwest Conference standings a game ahead of Whtiman. In there last 10 match ups this series has been back and forth between the Lutes and the Blues with PLU having the lead 6-4.
"Well not the way we wanted to the end the first round," Head Coach
Kevin Aoki commented. "Credit Whitman for being prepared and ready. Back on the road next weekend at George Fox and Lewis and Clark."
Offensively, the Lutes were led by

Julissa Pernsteiner,
Shaela Allen-Greggs each with four kills a piece.
Macy Matsushima totaled a team-high 11 digs on the day. Matsushima has now had double-digit digs in 11 straight games and has only one game this year below 10.
Pacific Lutheran will be back on the court on Friday, October 17 against George Fox University with opening serve slated for 7 PM.
