TACOMA, Wash. — Pacific Lutheran University running back
Jacob Schuh had a field day in Saturday's season finale and on Tuesday was recognized for his efforts, earning a spot on the D3football.com Team of the Week for the second time this fall.
The Mount Vernon, Washington native racked up 285 yards on the ground, scoring three touchdowns and throwing for another in PLU's 55-21 victory over George Fox University to secure third place in the Northwest Conference standings. Schuh was unstoppable, averaging 11.4 yards per rush while also having on catch for 25 yards. Named NWC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, Schuh's performance etched him in the record books, becoming the first Lute since Niko Madison in 2014 to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season. Schuh finished the 2025 campaign with 1,105 rushing yards, a tally that is the third most rushing yards in a season in PLU history and is the 25th most rushing yards this season in all of NCAA Division III.
Schuh was one of 26 players— 11 offensive, 11 defensive, and four specialists— to be recognized on the D3football.com Team of the Week, a weekly program that honors the best weekly performances from the 241 NCAA Division III football programs. Schuh was one of two NWC players to be recognized this week, joined by University of Puget Sound wide receiver Darius Bailey.
This is the fifth time this fall a Lute has earned a spot on D3football.com Team of the Week and the second time for Schuh. He previously was tabbed to the team on Oct. 14. PLU has also been represented by
Zachary Gable (Oct. 21),
Cole Becker (Oct. 7), and
Connor Meade (Sept. 16).
Pacific Lutheran wrapped up the 2025 season with a 6-4 overall record and a 5-2 mark in conference play.Â
