Women’s Cross Country Tied for 7th in NWC Poll

HILLSBORO, Ore. — The Pacific Lutheran University women's cross country team is tied for seventh in the annual preseason coaches' poll released on Wednesday by the Northwest Conference office.
 
The Lutes secured 17 points in the poll, tying with Pacific University for seventh. The two rivals sit six points clear of ninth-ranked Linfield University.

George Fox University sits atop the rankings with 63 points and seven of the nine first place votes. Whitworth University is second with 54 points and one first place vote while Willamette University was third with 49 points and one first place endorsement. Lewis & Clark College and University of Puget Sound are tied for fourth with 40 points while Whitman College was sixth with 33 points. 
 
Last fall, the Lutes finished seventh at the NWC Championships before placing 21st at the West Region Championships. PLU opens up the 2025 season on Saturday, racing at the Puget Sound Invitational.
