Tacoma, Wash.--- Pacific Lutheran University men's soccer left no doubts with a strong Northwest Conference win over George Fox Unviersity 3-0 at home on Saturday, September 20th.
The Lutes piled in the most goals scored so far in their 2025 campaign with three goals.
Owen Bliskis had a day assisting
Ty Brunner off a blocked shot that was then tucked in the corner early on in the 4th minute of the match. Bliskis quickly matched that output scoring a goal himself in the 12th minute off an assist from
Connor O'Brien. Finally Bliskis drew a penalty kick in the 47th minute of the match, which was clinically finished by O'Brien.
"I thought the team had a very good performance," Head Coach
John Yorke stated. "Today is exactly what we need in the conference home opener. We've made a lot of good strides over the last couple of weeks and hopefully we can carry it in tomorrow. I thought
Misha Turchaninov had one of his best games as a Lute and Bliskis had a huge impact on the game."
Turchaninov and the defense limited the Bruins to just 10 total shots and four on goal. The Lutes earned their first shutout of the season.
Gio Aguilar-Gutierrez earned the win in goal playing all 90 minutes and put up four saves on the day.Â
Lutes improve to 2-3 overall, 1-0 in NWC play.  Pacific Lutheran returns to play tomorrow September 21st on East Field with a 2:45 PM kickoff time against NWC foe the Lewis & Clark College Pioneers.
