HILLSBORO, Ore. — The Northwest Conference released its weekly award winners on Monday afternoon with Pacific Lutheran University slugger Asa Reese earning Baseball Hitter of the Week honors.

The Seattle, Washington native lands the honor after belting two home runs and finishing with a .444 batting average in a doubleheader sweep of Lewis & Clark College on Saturday. The senior had two hits, an RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base in PLU's 18-5 thrashing of the River Otters in game one before crushing two home runs, including a three-run blast in the eighth inning to break a tie in a 7-4 win for the sweep.
 
Reese finished the weekend with a .444 batting average with five RBIs, four runs scored, and two home runs.

Reese and the Lutes return to Portland this weekend, facing Lewis & Clark in a three-game series to begin NWC play. The two teams meet twice on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. before closing the series with a single game on Sunday at 12 p.m.
