TACOMA, Wash. — The 21st-ranked Pacific Lutheran University softball squad captured the program's first regular season Northwest Conference title since 2003 and will host the NWC Tournament for the first time in program history this coming weekend, welcoming Linfield University, Lewis & Clark College, and George Fox University to PLU Field for the double elimination event.
The tournament begins on Friday with the top-seeded Lutes hosting fourth seed George Fox at 10 a.m. before second seed Linfield faces third seed Lewis & Clark at 12:30 p.m. The loser of game one will meet the loser of game two in an elimination game at 3 p.m. while game one and game two winners will battle at 5:30 p.m. for a spot in the championship game.
On Sunday, the tournament resumes at 11 a.m. with another elimination game between the game three winner and the game four winner. The winner of that game heads to the championship at 1:30 p.m. If necessary a third game of the day will be contested at 4 p.m. The winner of the tournament will receive the NWC's automatic bid to the 2026 NCAA Division III Tournament.Â
