MCMINNVILLE, Ore. — Taylee Alldredge scored in three times in the Northwest Conference opener on Friday but it wasn't enough as the Pacific Lutheran University women's lacrosse team fell 18-4 to host Linfield University.
Alldredge scored a goal in three of the four quarters, including one in the opening seconds of play. The Lutes' all-time leading scorer with 43 tallied the game's opening goal just 17 seconds into the contest off a pass from
Paige Hackman. The host Wildcats (4-6, 2-0 NWC) quickly answered before Hackman scoring unassisted with 14:20 left in the quarter, giving PLU the 2-1 lead.
Pacific Lutheran's (2-7, 0-1 NWC) lead was short lived with the Wildcats scoring the next 13 goals. Alldredge scored with 4:20 left in the third before Alldredge found her second tally of the night with 14:47 left in the game.
"The team played with a lot of grit and hustle for 60 minutes tonight. We're looking to build from tonight and see some things come together tomorrow," said Head Coach
Melanie Rizzotti.
Kassie Diller turned away 12 shots in goal, finishing one shy of a season-high and notching her third double digit save performance of the season.
Hackmen led the Lutes with five draw controls while
Gracie Cecka had a pair of caused turnovers and two ground balls.
The Lutes have a short turnaround, facing Willamette University tomorrow afternoon in Salem, Oregon. Opening draw is set for 1 p.m.
