Official CSC Release

TACOMA, Wash. — College Sports Communicators (CSC) recognized success on the diamond and in the classroom on Tuesday with five members of the Pacific Lutheran University baseball squad securing CSC Academic All-District honors.

Ethan Keintz and Matthew Sherwood secure the award for the second consecutive season and are joined by first time winners Alex Lopez, Kaleb McNeely, and Kyle Tat.

A Second Team All-Northwest Conference selection, Ethan Keintz lands the academic award for the second year in a row. The outfielder from Helena, Montana capped his career by leading the team in both batting average (.352) and hits (51). 

Matthew Sherwood snags CSC Academic All-District for the second straight season. The junior from Santa Clarita, California was a workhorse for the Lutes this spring, leading the team in innings pitched (65 1/3) and strikeouts (69), boasting a 4-3 record in 14 appearances, including 12 starts.

Alex Lopez claims the honor for the first time in his career. The sophomore from Gresham, Oregon made 14 appearances on the mound this spring, tossing 58 2/3 innings with 40 punchouts. 

Kaleb McNeely earns CSC Academic All-District for the first time. The junior catcher and Tacoma Community College transfer scored 15 runs and had 15 RBIs on the season while defensively, leading the squad with 184 putouts.

Kyle Tat rounds out the Lute award winners, securing the award for the first time. The sophomore from Newcastle, Washington was second on the team with a .299 batting average while collecting 22 RBIs and scoring 26 runs. Defensively, Tat recorded 132 putouts and had 31 assists. 
 
The Lutes finished the 2026 season with a 14-24 overall record and a 10-14 mark in conference play.
