Complete CSC Academic All-District Team (Women)
TACOMA, Wash. — Seven members of the Pacific Lutheran University cross country and track & field programs were honored for excellence in the classroom and in competition on Tuesday, securing Academic All-District from College Sports Communicators.
Earning the accolade from the Lute women's track & field team includes
Lilly Achterling,
Kyleigh Archer,
Tulip Carter,
Madison Downey,
Ki Neir, and
Sandra Valmonte while
Kai Sorensen from the PLU men's cross country squad is also recognized.Â
To be honored, student-athletes needed to maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher while ranking in the top 50 regionally in at least one event in track & field or place in the top 50 at the NCAA Division III regional meet.
Lilly Achterling earns CSC Academic All-District for the first time in her career. The Eschwege, Germany native ranked 28th in the West Region in the 400-meter hurdles, 29th in the 100-meter hurdles, and 38th in the high jump this spring.
Kyleigh Archer tallies Academic All-District laurels for the second consecutive year. The Spokane, Washington native was the top ranked triple jumper in the West Region and was 18th in the long jump during the indoor season while ranking sixth in the triple jump and 28th in the long jump during the outdoor campaign.
Tulip Carter lands Academic All-District for the first time in her career. The Bremerton, Washington native ranked 39th in the West Region in the weight throw during the indoor season and ranked 48th in the hammer throw during the outdoor season.Â
Madison Downey captures Academic All-District for the first time in her career. The Salem, Oregon native and 2026 NCAA qualifier ranked first in the triple jump, 13th in the pole vault, 28th in the long jump, and 50thin the high jump during the 2026 outdoor season while ranking 11th in the pole vault, 16th in the triple jump, and 25th in the long jump during the indoor campaign.Â
Ki Neir nabs CSC Academic All-District for the first time. The Yelm, Washington native ranked third in the West Region in the outdoor pole vault and fourth in the indoor pole vault during the 2026 season.
Sandra Valmonte secures Academic All-District for the second consecutive year. The Everett, Washington native ended the outdoor campaign ranked seventh in the West region in the hammer throw.Â
Kai Sorensen earns Academic All-District for the third straight season. The Sacramento, California native placed 45th at the 2025 NCAA West Region Cross Country Championships back on Nov. 15, closing out his Lute career. The 2025 Northwest Conference Champion in the 800-meters, Sorensen did not compete for the Lutes during the 2026 track & field season.
