Savea Tabbed NWC Offensive Player of the Week

HILLSBORO, Ore. — Pacific Lutheran University football's Dayton Savea is proving to be one of the elite receivers in the Northwest Conference through the opening two games of 2026 and on Monday was named the NWC's Offensive Player of the Week.

The Pearl City, Hawaii native caught seven passes for 125 yards on Saturday at Sparks Stadium against nationally-ranked University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (Texas). Through the opening two games of the season, Savea leads the conference in receiving touchdowns with three and has 11 total catches for 211 yards.

Savea and the Lutes (1-1) hit the road for the first time this season on Saturday, flying to San Antonio, Texas for a showdown with 12th-ranked Trinity University.
