2017: Appeared in 38 games for the Lutes. Made 47 put outs, had 164 assists and turned 33 double plays. Finished the season with a .343 batting average with 57 hits, including 12 doubles and five home runs. He drove in 30 runs, and scored 36 for the team. Welch recieved first team all Northwest Conference Honors, first team All-West Region Honors and first team American Baseball Coaches Association Honors. 

2016: Appeared and started in 44 games for the Lutes. Finished second on the team with a .331 batting average in 175 at bats with 42 runs scored, 29 RBIs, and 10 extra base hits. Tallied an on-base percentage of .436 while stealing three bases.

2015: Appeared in 45 games for the Lutes, making 43 starts. Hit .331 a the plate in 163 at-bats with 24 RBIs and 12 extra base hits.  Scored 25 runs while stealing five bases.

2014: Appeared in 38 games for the Lutes. Finished the season hitting .232 in 142 at bats with 16 runs scored and 10 RBIs.

Personal: Son of Steve, who played football at PLU, and Caryn, who was a rower at PLU.
