Athlete of the Week: Tommy Snyder

Class: Junior

Hometown: Vancouver, Wash.

High School: Evergreen

2020: Appeared in 10 games for the Lutes making the start in nine of them. Hit .200 on the season with 2 RBI’s. Had 30 putouts and five assists in the field. On the mound he made four starts posting a 4.64 ERA over 21.1 innings pitched. Recorded 15 strikeouts on the season.

2019: Appeared in 16 games for the Lutes. Accumulated an ERA of 4.62. Pitched 62 innings on the season and struck out 40 hitters while only allowing 26 walks. 

High School: At Evergreen High School, Snyder earned four varsity letters while spending two years as team captain, earning the team’s most valuable player award twice. Was named League MVP as a senior. As a junior, earned league pitcher of the year and was first team all-league. As a sophomore, was second team all-league. Away from the diamond, he’s involved with Unified Olympics, Vancouver clean up and junior honor society.

Major: Plans on majoring in business with a concentration in finance. Chose PLU “great academic school with a strong baseball team and great coaches and players.”

Personal: Son of Jeffrey and Shannon Snyder and is a brother to Jocie.

Hobbies: Watching baseball
