Mike Williams joined the PLU baseball coaching staff as an assistant prior to the 2019 season.
"Mike is an extremely knowledgeable coach," said 2018 Northwest Conference Coach of the Year
Nolan Soete. "He's a teacher of the game and has experienced a great deal of success throughout his coaching career."
Williams joins the Lutes after a hall of fame career coaching at the high school ranks. He served as the Head Coach at White River High School in Buckley, Washington from 1995 to 2016. His career saw the Hornets rack up 279 wins, four league titles, three state appearances and one fifth place finish at the state championships. Williams was a seven-time coach of the year, while coaching 30 student-athletes who went on to play college baseball and three to be drafted by Major League Baseball.
Williams was named the Washington State Baseball Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 2012 and was inducted into the WSBCA Hall of Fame in 2016.
"We're excited to have Mike at PLU, he will be a great addition to our staff."
All told, Williams has logged 28 seasons coaching middle school, high school, and summer ball.
