Doug Burton joins his alma mater prior to the 2025 season as an assistant coach for tight ends and fullbacks and as the Director of Player Leadership.
Burton was a tight end for the Lutes from 1989 to 1992, helping the squad compile a 35-8-1 record over those four seasons with three trips to the NAIA playoffs. That included playing in the NAIA national title game in 1991 and winning a Columbia Football Association title in 1992. Burton was a team captain and won both the Coach's Award and the Captain's Award as a senior and was twice named All-CFA Mount Rainier League and was tabbed Second Team Little All-Northwest in 1992.
Away from the gridiron, Burton spent 13 years in leadership positions at a large Chevrolet Dealership before creating the Vision Service Group (VSG) in 2002. VSG is currently a leader in providing professional marketing, consultation, and technology solutions to companies of all size and industries and was awarded the 2020 South Sound "Top Places to Work" Award.
