Jim Sutrick

Jim Sutrick joined the Pacific Lutheran football coaching staff prior to the 2013 season. He currently serves as the defensive line coach and has previously worked with tight ends, wide receivers, and special teams.

Before coming to PLU, Sutrick coached football for 21 years through multiple levels including 7 as defensive coordinator at Kentwood and Puyallup high schools, leading them to 7 playoff appearances, 3 league titles, and 2 state titles, as well as 4 years as head coach at Foster High School leading the Bulldogs to their best record and first playoff appearance in over 25 years.

A graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (1989, BS Airway Science), Sutrick has worked for the United States Government and the Federal Aviation Administration as an Air Traffic Controller for 26 years. He earned a master's degree in athletic coaching from the The United States Sports Academy in the spring of 2017.

Sutrick and his wife, Michelle (Reese), live in Auburn, Washington and have three children: Collin, Kyle, and Marcus.
