Zack Coop joined the PLU football staff in the spring of 2018 as the Running Backs Coach and became the inside Wide Receivers and Passing Game Coordinator in 2019. 

Coop comes to PLU after spending the previous two seasons as the offensive line coach and co-offensive coordinator at Sumner High School. During his time with the local powerhouse, the Spartans compiled a 22-4 record on the gridiron, winning the SPSL Championship and finishing third at state both season. Additionally, Coop coached four offensive linemen who went on to play college football.

Prior to Sumner, Coop served two seasons as a graduate assistant at his alma mater Eastern Washington University after spending four seasons as the video coordinator for the Eagles. During his time at EWU, the Eagles won four Big Sky Conference titles along with winning the Division I FCS National Championship in 2010. 

Coop holds degrees in both communications and history from Eastern Washington where he graduated in 2014.
