A University Place, Washington native, Alex Schilter joins the PLU men's basketball program as an assistant coach with experience at the Division I and Division II levels.
Schilter spent four seasons as an assistant at Division II Cal State LA (2014-2018), helping the Golden Eagles make the California Collegiate Athletic Association playoffs twice. Prior to Cal State LA, Schilter spent two seasons at Division I Loyola Marymount as the Lions' Director of Basketball operations.
Schilter earned his bachelor’s degree in sports management with a business administration area of specialization from Washington State University in 2012. He was the student manager for the Cougars from 2010 until his graduation and was the associate video coordinator. He completed his Master’s degree in educational studies from Loyola Marymount in August, 2014.
