Caylie Shiramizu joins the Pacific Lutheran University athletic department in December of 2021 as an assistant athletic trainer.
Shiramizu returns to her alma mater after serving as a certified athletic trainer for Olympic Sports and Spine. While there, Shiramizu was an athletic trainer with Kent-Meridian High School.
A member of the Lute volleyball team while a student, Shiramizu has experience as an athletic trainer at the collegiate level serving on sports medicine staffs at Lewis & Clark College and Pacific University in addition to working as an athletic training aide as a student at PLU.
"I’m so excited and looking forward to being back at my alma mater to work with such an amazing athletic training staff, athletics department, and student-athletes,” said Shiramizu.
“Having the opportunity to work at PLU has always been a dream toward reaching the goals I want to achieve. I'm very thankful and blessed toward having this opportunity and excited to start and continue my journey here. Go Lutes!"
A standout for the Lutes, Shiramizu was a three-time All-Northwest Conference selection on the volleyball court, earning NWC Libero of the Year in 2016 and 2018. Shiramizu ranked fifth all-time in digs with 1,485 and helped PLU finish with a 73-27 record in her four years on campus, winning two NWC titles and making two trips to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Shiramizu graduated from PLU in 2019 with a degree in Kinesiology and earned a master’s degree in athletic training from Pacific University in 2021.
