Curt Wilson joined the PLU track & field coaching staff prior to the 2018 season and currently works with Lute high jumpers. 

His first season in 2018 saw Lauren Wilson finish second at the NWC Championships and fourth at the NCAA Championships to earn All-American accolades. Wilson additionally coached three more Lutes who earned All-Conference honors in the high jump. In 2019, Wilson coached Kelsey Hathaway to a NWC title in the triple jump while Lauren Wilson won the NWC title in the high jump and finished sixth at the NCAA Championships, securing All-American honors for the second year in a row. 

In 2021, Wilson coached Lauren Wilson to another NWC title in the high jump and helped her finish the season as an All-American at the NCAA Championships. 

Wilson comes to PLU with considerable coaching experience, serving as an assistant coach for the 1994 WIAA 3A Girls State Champion River Ridge High School in addition to Olympia High School from 1995 to 1998, and from 2001 to 2003. Wilson has coached youth football, basketball and club volleyball since 2004, in addition to serving as a jump-training consultant on proper bounding and high jump technique.

Wilson competed in the high jump at Washington State University from 1991-1993, earning a bachelor's degree in fine arts and visual communication . As a senior, he owned the third-best jump in the Pac 10, clearing 2.14 meters (seven feet, 0 1/4 inches). He is the 17th Cougar jumper to clear seven feet or higher and his jump was the best mark in the State of Washington at the collegiate level in 1993. Finished sixth at the Pac-10 Championships in 1992 and from 1988-1990, played basketball at Skagit Valley College.
