Tabitha Messineo-Solomon joins the PLU track & field coaching staff prior to the 2024 season.
A Lute graduate, Messineo-Solomon competed for the Lutes for five seasons, as a multi-events athlete. Messineo-Solomon placed runner-up as a member of the 4x400-meter relay team, was third in the 400-meter hurdles, fourth in the heptathlon, and seventh in the high jump at the Northwest Conference Championships as a first-year in 2019. She would place eighth in the shot put at the 2021 NWC Championships and fifth in the hammer throw at the 2022 NWC Championships. Messineo-Solomon closed her collegiate career with a third place finish in the hammer throw, a seventh place finish in the heptathlon, and an eighth place showing in the javelin at the 2023 NWC Championships. Messineo-Solomon also competed on the swim team and served as team captain for both programs.
Messineo-Solomon has served as a volunteer assistant coach at Puyallup High School since 2022 while also having experience as a athletic training aide at PLU and as the assistant equipment manager and medical intern with the women's professional soccer team the OL Reign.Â
Messineo-Solomon graduated with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from PLU in 2023.
