Biography

2017: Appeared in 39 games for the Lutes. He made 70 put outs, two assists and accumulated a .986 fielding percentage. Finished the season with a .304 batting average with 45 hits, including eight doubles and five homes run. He drove in 31 runs, and scored 28 for the team. VanderStaay earned first team all Northwest Conference Honors. 

2016: Appeared in 27 games for the Lutes, making 15 starts. Collected nine RBIs and six extra base hits while scoring nine runs. Defensively, accrued 34 putouts and thee assists with a .974 fielding percentage. Saw two innings of action on the mound, recording one strikeout.

2015: Appeared in 23 games for the Lutes, making 12 starts. Finished with one double and one triple.

2014: Appeared in 29 games for the Lutes, making 26 starts. Hit .261 at the plate with 92 at bats, collecting two doubles.

High School: First team all-league as a senior. Second team all-league as a junior. Also played football in high school.

Personal: Son of Bonnie and Scott. Born on October 6, 1994. Brother to Jessica. Chose PLU because "it seemed like a good fit for my personality and interests."

Major: Health and Fitness Promotion. Minor in Personal Training.
