Brian Grout joins the PLU football coaching staff as the tight ends & fullbacks coach prior to the 2026 season.
Grout joins the Lute staff after serving as head coach at Puyallup High School from 2021 to 2025. Prior to taking over as head coach, Grout served as the Vikings offensive coordinator and offensive and defensive line coaches from 2017 to 2021. Before Puyallup, Grout was the Head Coach at Auburn Mountainview High School from 2011 to 2016. Grout has coached at several football camps and has also coached both baseball and basketball at the high school and middle school levels at Puyallup, Mountainview, Saghalie Middle School, and Orting High School.
Grout graduated from Central Washington University in 2008 with a degree in school health and physical education with a minor in coaching.Â
