Julez Johnson returns to PLU as an assistant coach for the women's rowing team prior to the 2025-2026 season.
A 2025 Lute graduate, Johnson was a two-time All-American for the Lutes, securing First Team honors in 2022 and Second Team honors in 2021. Johnson was in the varsity eight boat all four seasons (2020-2024), winning Northwest Conference titles in the spring of 2021 and 2022. She also competed at the NCAA Championships both seasons, including helping the team to a fifth place showing in 2021. A team captain, Johnson is a three-time All-Northwest Conference selection (2021-2023).Â
Johnson served as an assistant coach with Commencement Bay Rowing during the summer of 2023, earning a USRowing Level 2 Coaching Certification. Johnson also served as an athletics assistant at PLU from 2020 to 2025 and worked for Saint Paul Parks & Recreation in Minnesota.Â
Johnson earned a business degree from PLU in 2025.Â
