Phillip Hecksel joined the PLU coaching staff prior to the 2024-2025 academic year.

A four-year letterwinner for the Lutes, Hecksel helped PLU post a 20-11 dual meet record over his four seasons in the pool. Hecksel earned Northwest Conference All-Academic honors and was inducted in Chi Alpha Sigma honors society.

Hecksel graduated with a degree in computer science and a minor in mathematics in 2021.
