The Northwest Conference office doled out its first weekly awards of the fall on Sept. 6 with Pacific Lutheran University goalkeeper Shaylin Cesar earning NWC Defensive Player of the Week laurels.
 
Cesar secures the honor after collecting a pair of clean sheets over the extended weekend, pushing the Lutes' home winning streak to 15 games. Cesar made one save in a 3-0 victory over USA South Conference preseason favorite Piedmont University on Thursday before making four stops in PLU's 1-0 victory over 22nd-ranked Emory University on Saturday.
