Pacific Lutheran University student-athlete
Anthony Louthan did a little of everything on Saturday in the Lutes' 30-23 victory over Pacific University and on Tuesday was named to the D3Football.com Team of the Week.
Louthan was recognized as the top punter this week, earning a spot on the D3 Team of the Week that featured 11 offensive players, 11 defensive players, and four specialists from the 250 football playing institutions at the NCAA Division III level.
A two-time Northwest Conference Special Teams Player of the Week, Louthan had 11 punts on Saturday totaling 467 yards, averaging 42.5 yards per punt. Three of his boots pinned the Boxers inside the 20-yard line while two exceeded 50 yards in length including a career long 70-yarder in the first quarter.
The Montesano, Washington native additionally ran 31 yards on a fake punt on fourth down, setting up the Lutes' first touchdown of the game. He finished the day with 104 yards of total offense, leading the team in rushing on the afternoon.
Louthan is the fourth Lute to earn D3Football.com Team of the Week honors over the past two seasons.
Isaiah Watkins (Nov. 14),
Travis McMillion (Oct. 24), and
Carson Ketter (Oct. 3) all earned the honor during the 2017 season.
