Pacific Lutheran head football coach Scott Westering has announced that 39 student-athletes will be joining the Lutes as part of the 2009 recruiting class.

The recruits who have verbally committed to Pacific Lutheran as of June 10 include student-athletes from Washington, Oregon and Nevada. The new Lutes will join a team that struggled with inexperience and injuries in 2008, finishing with a 3-6 record. Additional student-athletes will also join the team as walk-on players before the start of the 2009 season.

Among the new Lutes to watch this fall are running backs Brandon James and Cody Pohren, linebacker Sean Snead, linemen Chris Kaestle and Ryan Ransavage, defensive back Mike Wickens and transfer quarterback AJ Palazzolo.
