ORANGE, Calif. - Playing less than 24 hours after its previous
match, the Pacific Lutheran women's soccer team dropped a 2-0
decision to the Chapman Panthers on Saturday morning.
The Lutes hit the field for the start of today's game at 11 a.m.
after finishing Friday's contest against Claremont-Mudd
Scripps - played in hot temperatures - at approximately 6 p.m. The
Lutes managed five shots, including three on goal, but failed to
score a goal for the first time in three matches this season.
Chapman scored a goal in each half, the first coming from Aimee
Evans in the 37th minute and the second from Kim Grant in the 54th
minute. Chloe Canta picked up the shutout for the Panthers.
Chapman took 17 shots and put nine on goal, forcing seven saves
for PLU goalkeeper Lauren Chambard.
The Lutes return to action at noon on Sunday, Sept. 13, when
they host Pomona-Pitzer in another non-conference contest.
