Willamette is No Trouble for PLU Women Swimmers

Pacific Lutheran had no trouble with visiting Willamette on Saturday afternoon at the PLU pool, swimming away to a 150-46 victory over the visiting Bearcats.

The Lutes had six individual event wins and swept the two relays. They opened with a 1:56.93 in the 200 medley relay and closed the meet with a 1:44.87 in the 200 freesytyle relay.

In between, Rachel Nelson won the 200 freestyle in 2:06.20, followed by Kristin Nueneker's 26.31 in the 50 freestyle. Kina Ackerman, who won three events on Friday, took the 400 individual medley in a time of 4:55.63. Toni Castillo, a double winner on Friday, followed with a 1:00.39 in the 100 butterfly. The other event winnes were Liz Althauser in the 100 freestyle with a 57.33, and Darla Avis in the 100 back with a 1:03.17.

The Lutes are now 3-0 overall and 2-0 in Northwest Conference duals. Their next competition comes on Friday and Saturday in the Northwest Invitational hosted by Linfield College.
