Former PLU Coach Weekly Picks Up 1,000th Win

University of Tennessee softball co-head coach Ralph Weekly, who coached Pacific Lutheran to a pair of NAIA national championships, recently picked up his 1,000th career coaching victory.

Weekly served as Pacific Lutheran's head softball coach from 1986-94, compiling a 310-94 overall record against all competition and winning national titles in 1988 and 1992. After leaving PLU, he coached at Tennessee-Chattanooga (1995-98, 2001) before taking the job at University of Tennessee, where he is co-head coach with his wife, Karen.

In addition to his collegiate coaching career, Weekly has served as the hitting coach and Team Leader for the 2000 U.S. Olympic team that claimed its second consecutive gold medal in Sydney, Australia. In 1996, he served as the hitting and third base coach for the U.S. Olympic team that won the gold medal in Atlanta.
