Box Score Trevor Lubking put together a week to remember for the Pacific Lutheran baseball team, and as a result the Northwest Conference has honored him as the Baseball Pitcher student-athlete of the week.
This is the second time that Lubking has been honored by the conference, the previous time on March 12.
Lubking (Buckley, Wash. / White River HS), a sophomore, was 3-0 in three appearances for the Lutes. In a non-conference doubleheader played against Saint Martin's on April 1, he was the winning pitcher in both games. He picked up a win for one inning of relief work in the Lutes' 5-4 10-inning victory in the first game. He came back to start the second game and threw five innings of no-run, two-hit ball as the Lutes hammered the Saints, 12-1.
Pitching on a cold and wet Sunday afternoon against conference leader Linfield - ranked first or second in two different Division III baseball national polls - he went the distance in PLU's 3-1 victory. Lubking allowed six hits and struck out nine Wildcat batters.
For the week he threw 15 innings, allowing one run on eight hits while striking out 19 and walking eight.
