SEATTLE – The Pacific Lutheran cross country teams returned to action Saturday morning, competing against more than 400 student-athletes from nearly 20 programs covering every collegiate level at the 2014 University of Washington Sundodger Invitational at Lincoln Park.
British Columbia swept the team titles, finishing with 33 points in the men's race and 34 points in the women's race, while PLU placed 15th in the women's 6k and 18th in the men's 8k. The PLU women tallied 447 points, while the men scored 517 points.
Amie Wilson was the Lutes' top finisher in the women's race, placing 88th with a time of 24:14. Genevieve Brandt came next for the Lutes (111th, 24:39), followed by Shailee R. Woodard (132nd, 25:00). Matthew Macfarlane and Charles Mogen finished together with a time of 27:34, placing 125th and 126th to lead the men's squad. Brendon Bonnell was close behind in 134th with a time of 27:41.
The Lutes' next meet will be their lone home meet of the season, when they host the PLU Invitational on Oct. 4 at 10 a.m.
