TUCSON, Ariz. – PLU Softball edged Northwest Conference opponent Lewis & Clark 6-5 in Sunday's nonconference matchup at the Tucson Invitational Games. PLU improved its overall record to 11-9 and finished its time in Tucson with a perfect 6-0 record.
Leah Butters (5-5) earned the win, tossing her sixth complete game and allowing one earned run on seven hits with three strikeouts. Thalen Masada finished 2-for-3 with two RBI and two stolen bases while Crysti Snyder went 1-for-3 with a two-RBI double.
The Lutes will continue their Arizona trip on Monday, traveling to Phoenix for a nonconference doubleheader against Arizona Christian. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
