Box Score MCMINNVILLE, Ore. – Pacific Lutheran baseball drops a non-conference game to Linfield 6 to 5 in 11 innings.
Coming off the Northwest Conference Tournament that locked up the playoff berth for the Lutes, the team played most of the game in the lead. Brett Johnson got the scoring started with a two run double scoring Frank Airey and Ben Welch in the 1st inning. Linfield answered with a run in the bottom half of the inning.
The Lutes picked up two additional runs off a Welch home run in the top of the eighth, but Linfield answered with three in the bottom of the inning to tie it up. Tyler Thompson drove in Airey in the top of the 11th, but Linfield's Ryan Pladson hit a two run home run in the bottom of the inning, giving the Wildcats the win.
Cory Nelson got the start for the Lutes going 7 and 2/3 innings and allowing on eight hits, giving up four earned runs while striking out three. Garrett Brown pitching an and inning and a 1/3 allowing just one hit.
