NEWBERG, Ore. – The Pacific Lutheran University women's swimming team finished the fall dual season with a strong showing against George Fox University, winning eight out of 10 events in a 130-56 dual victory in Oregon.
The Lutes started the meet with a bang, as the combined efforts of
Kiyomi Kishaba,
Kaycee Simpson,
Bailey Hamilton, and
Lauren Kearney netted a victory in the 200 yard medley relay, touching the wall with a time of 1:53.37. Hamilton would then go on to net two more wins in the 200 individual medley (2:18.18) and the 200 yard freestyle relay.
Simpson added a pair of individual wins, securing victories in both the 100 yard fly (1:00.06) and the 500 yard freestyle (5:31.18). Kishaba added an individual win in the 100 yard backstroke (1:01.90), while
Victoria Nguyenle claimed the 100 yard breaststroke (1:08.79.)
Taylor Bingea netted a victory in the 200 yard freestyle (2:06.38).
"We had a great time as a team christening the new George Fox facility," said Head Coach
Matt Sellman. "We were very happy to get the double win and had some surprisingly good swims considering how hard we have been working out and training. Now we look forward to enjoying a relaxing week and preparing to wrap up the semester at the Logger Invite."
The Lutes return to the pool for the Logger Invite on November 30 at the University of Puget Sound.
