PLU Announces 2018 Hall of Fame Class

TACOMA, Wash. - The Pacific Lutheran University athletic department will induct six individuals into the Hall of Fame on Friday, November 2, at 11:30 a.m. inside Chris Knutzen Hall as part of the Lutes' 29th induction class. Earning enshrinement to the PLU Hall of Fame is Geoff Loomis (baseball), Jon Kral (football), Brody Loy (football), Becky Hoddevik-Callahan (softball), and twin sisters Corie Krueger Roberts (track & field and soccer) and Jenni Krueger Sipe (track & field and soccer).

Geoff Loomis (Baseball Head Coach: 2003-2015)
Loomis is the program's all-time winningest head coach, amassing 325 victories in 13 years at the helm. His tenure included 11 seasons of at least 20 wins, four seasons of at least 30 wins, three Northwest Conference titles, and two NCAA Division III Tournament appearances. Loomis currently serves as head coach at his alma mater, Division I University of Portland. 

Jon Kral (Football: 1985-1988)
A two-time NAIA All-American defensive end, Kral helped the Lutes compile a 36-7-2 record on the gridiron during his four years with the team, including winning two conference titles and the 1987 NAIA Division II National Championship. Kral was the Columbia Football Association Mount Rainier League Defensive MVP in 1988 and currently ranks third in career sacks (34) and eighth in tackles (225) in program history.

Brody Loy (Football: 1989-1992)
One of the most feared cornerbacks in PLU history, Loy was a two-time Little All-Northwest and All-CFA Mt. Rainier League selection and an Honorable Mention NAIA All-American in 1992. His 21 interceptions still sits atop the PLU record books while his time on the gridiron saw the Lutes rack up three NAIA playoff appearances and one league title along run to the NAIA Division II National Championship game in 1991.

Becky Hoddevik-Callahan (Softball: 1990-1993)
One of the most dominant pitchers in program history, Hoddevik-Callahan propelled the Lutes to four straight conference titles along with winning the 1992 NAIA National Championship. A four-time All-Conference selection, Hoddevik-Callahan made an immediate impact as a first year in 1990, winning 29 games inside the circle and leading PLU to the NAIA title game. Hoddevik-Callahan was named the NAIA Tournament MVP in 1992 during the Lutes national title run and was a First Team All-American during the 1993 season.

Corie Krueger Roberts (Track & Field & Soccer: 1993-1997)
A multi-sport athlete, Roberts was a two-time All-American, finishing third in the hammer throw at the 1996 NAIA Championships before winning the 1997 NAIA National title in the hammer with a then PLU and NAIA national meet record toss of 171 feet, seven inches. On the soccer pitch, Roberts was a two-time NAIA All-American Scholar Athlete. Roberts additionally lettered one season as a member of the women's basketball team. 

Jenni Krueger Sipe (Track & Field & Soccer: 1993-1998)
A multi-sport star, Sipe was an All-American in three different events as a member of the Lute track & field program. A two-time conference champion in the heptathlon, Sipe was an All-American in hammer throw, heptathlon, and 4x100-meter relay in her career, including a runner-up finish in the hammer throw in 1996. The 1997 NCIC Female Athlete of the Meet, Sipe was a two-time NAIA All-American Scholar Athlete on the soccer pitch and was a letterwinner on the women's basketball team for one season.
