Box Score TACOMA, Wash. - Two goals in an 11 minute stretch turned the tide for the Pacific Lutheran University women's soccer squad on Friday evening, blanking the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor 2-0 in the home opener at East Field.
The Lutes (1-1-1) and Crusaders (1-1-1) battled to a stalemate through the opening 63 minutes before
Rachel Ross broke things open, finding the back of the net off a pass from
Liz Griffith. 11 minutes later,
Ellie Johnson cemented the win, netting an insurance goal in the 75th minute as PLU walked away with its second shutout of the young season.

Natalie Robinson earned the shutout the hard way on Friday, stonewalling nine shots in 90 minutes of work while her counterpart, Emmy McMaude, made one save while yielding two goals in the complete game effort.
The Lutes close out their non-conference slate tomorrow evening, hosting Calvin College at 5 p.m. at East Field.
