Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Yorke Picks Up 200th Win

TACOMA, Wash. – Pacific Lutheran University men's soccer coach John Yorke earned his 200thcareer victory on Saturday as the Lutes dominated Linfield College 4-0 at East Field.

Two names that Lute fans have become very familiar with this season led the attack once again on Saturday. Freshman Zak Gregg scored his 10thgoal of the season in the 17thminute to open up the scoring. Gregg needed to just tap the ball past the Wildcat keeper after a beautiful pair of passes from Zachary Manao and Ryan Klee.  The assist was Manao's sixth of the season and the junior currently leads the Northwest Conference in the category.

Sophomore Keeton Heggerness wouldn't be held scoreless for long.  Heggerness was fouled inside the box and easy defeated the Linfield goalie on a penalty kick to give the Lutes a dominating 2-0 advantage.  The Gig Harbor native was awarded another penalty shot in the 55thminute after he was dragged down by a Linfield defender. He once again punched the ball into the back of the net for his 10thgoal of the year.  Heggerness and Gregg lead the NWC in goals so far this season.

Tresor Kadima finished off the Wildcats in the final minute when finished a pretty play that included passes from Dane Helle and Robby Guyer.

For the game, the Lutes dominated possession of the ball and the defense held the Wildcats to just six total shots with just four coming on net.  Cole Weaver made two saves to earn the win, while Marcus Martin made one in relief.  Defender Ryan Griffith also saved what looked like it was going to be a Wildcat goal in the second half.

PLU (8-3, 5-0 NWC) sits atop the NWC standings and has a six-point lead over the University of Puget Sound and Willamette University.  The Lutes take on the Bearcats tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. at East Field.
