Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

Men’s Tennis Bitten by Boxers, 8-1

TACOMA, Wash. – The Pacific Lutheran University men's tennis squad was unable to keep pace with Pacific University on Saturday, falling 8-1 in a Northwest Conference dual match at the Sprinker Recreation Center.

"Today was a great match to see all of our team really battling," said Head Coach John Campbell. "We had a great win at No. 1 doubles against one of the best doubles teams in our league. Jake Kim played his best match ever and just ran out of time losing in a third set tie breaker."

Michael Campbell and Marcus Lee prevailed at No. 1 doubles for the Lutes (3-5, 0-4 NWC), winning by a score of 8-7 over Pacific's (6-1, 3-1 NWC) Koby Murata and Rayden Murata.

Kim battled hard at No. 5 but was unable to pull out the win, falling just short 6-4, 7-6, 1-0 to Pacific's Rich Cooper.

"I am proud of how we showed up today and we really have something to build on."

The Lutes return to the court tomorrow hosting Willamette at Sprinker Recreation Center at 10:30 a.m.
