FOREST GROVE, Wash. - The Pacific Lutheran University women's tennis squad wrapped up a busy weekend of competition on Sunday, dropping a 7-2 decision to Northwest Conference rival Pacific University in what was the Lutes' third dual match in as many days.

Lauren Kearney and
Kylie Rademacher secured an 8-3 victory at No. 3 doubles while at the top spot,
Bayley Gochanour and
Hannah Jeffries came up just short against the Boxers' (4-10, 1-4 NWC) top tandem, falling 8-6.

In singles,
Michelle Batin cruised to a, 6-1, 6-0, victory at No. 6 for her fifth singles win of the spring season. Rademacher claimed the opening set of her match at No. 4 before running out of steam, 6-7, 6-3, 10-6, while Gochanour fell, 6-3, 6-2, at the No. 2 position.

"It was a long weekend of matches but the players fought in every match," said Head Coach
Cheri Campbell. "Michelle had a highlight win at No. 6 singles and Kylie and Lauren won easily at No. 3 doubles. With only two matches left in the season, we're ready to get back to work at practice to finish strong."

The Lutes return to the court on Saturday, wrapping up the home slate by welcoming Whitman College to Sprinker Rec Center for a 1 p.m. showdown.
