Career Record at PLU: 80-56
From his first year at PLU to his last, Corey Ng's experience on the Lute baseball team has shaped him as a person.

Ng recalled a stand-out moment from his first year at PLU. The team defeated Whitman College with a walk-off win by scoring seven runs in the bottom of the ninth inning. Alongside his teammates, Ng tasted sweet success.

Through his baseball experience, Ng learned how to persevere through setbacks, and stay accountable for his own actions.

"Baseball has taught me that things in life aren't going to go our way. Sometimes we need to make changes," Ng said. "Success doesn't come if you don't do the little things right."

Ng is grateful for his relationships with his teammates and coaches, saying they encouraged him to become a better player and human being. He has many memories from bonding with his teammates off the field, and he will miss making more memories with them.

On the diamond, Ng was the ultimate team player. He started his career primarily as a pinch-runner before seeing time as an outfielder as an upperclassmen. The Kent, Washington native appeared in 55 games for the Lutes, scoring 16 runs over the past four seasons. Ng helped the Lutes win the NWC regular season title in 2018 and make three straight trips to the NWC Tournament.

"Corey experienced a tremendous amount of growth during his four years at PLU," said Head Coach Nolan Soete. "When he first arrived in the fall of 2016 Corey was a quiet undersized outfielder. He worked his tail off and transformed into a very athletic outfielder and highly respected teammate. Corey was an absolute pleasure to coach because he leads by example, you can always count on him to give his best effort to help the team."

Ng will be graduating with a degree in Math Education and a minor in Physics, and hopes to apply for a master's program in the future.
