TACOMA, Wash. – Pacific Lutheran University's Names Family Court will have a new look when the Lute volleyball and men's and women's basketball teams take the floor.
The resurfaced floor features the knight logo at center court and the PLU logo with interlocking letters at the center circle. The lanes are black with a yellow arc for the charge circle and the NWC logo underneath the free throw line.
"Having the opportunity ot do a redesign of the Olson Gym floor is not a project that comes along very often," said Interim Director of Athletics
Jen Thomas. "It was important to be able in include opinions of the coaches of the sports that are the primary users of the gym to make this a facility one that all will be excited to use. The finished floor looks great and I can't wait to see our teams on it this year."
Other updates include Pacific Lutheran written in yellow and surrounded by black in the endzones. Names Family Court is written in black in front of the home fans near the main entrance and #GoLutes is painted in front of the home bench. Two NCAA logos also dot the new-look court.
Olson Gym and Names Family Court are also used by physical education classes in the kinesiology department and by the PLU recreation department. The floor resurfacing was completed by Greater Seattle Floors.
