Women’s Basketball Suffers Road Loss

FOREST GROVE, Ore. – The Pacific Lutheran University basketball team was defeated by Pacific University on Saturday evening 76-50 inside the Stoller Center. 
 
The Lutes (3-4, 0-2 NWC) trailed by nine after surrendering 23 points in the first quarter and were down by 20 when both teams headed to the locker room for halftime.  PLU outscored the Boxers by a pair in the third quarter, but managed only seven points in the final 10 minutes.      
 
Kasidy Javernick had a career night with 12 points and eight rebounds to the lead the squad in both categories.  Maddie Plevyak came off the bench to score 11 points and Ava Edmonds chipped in 10.  Pleyvak also was active defensively with three of the Lutes' seven steals. 
 
The Lutes were held to 33.3 percent shooting and were just 2-for-19 from beyond the three-point arc. 
 
PLU will look to get back into the win column on Wednesday when they host The Evergreen State College for a non-conference affair at 7:00 p.m.
