TACOMA, Wash. - Lauren Wilson collected a career-high 20 kills, powering the Pacific Lutheran University volleyball squad to a 3-2 (21-25, 25-21, 25-14, 23-25, 15-11) victory over the University of Puget Sound on Friday night inside Memorial Fieldhouse.
The host Loggers (1-5) notched six of the first seven points of the match, taking the opening set 25-21. The Lutes trailed 16-14 in the second set before ripping off nine consecutive points, including three aces from
Breeze Bartle. PLU (3-2) led the rest of the set, claiming the 25-21 win before racing out to a 10-4 lead in the third and cruising to the 25-14 set win. Puget Sound scored three of the final four points in the fourth set to tip the scales in its favor 25-23, forcing a decisive fifth set.
In the fifth, PLU scored seven of the opening 10 points and never looked back as a McKenzie Pfieffer kill sealed the match 3-2 in favor of the Lutes.

Wilson paced the Lutes offensive attack with 20 kills along with four blocks while
Baylee Johnson and Pfeiffer added 11 kills and nine kills, respectively. The offensive went through
Emily Dulaney who racked up 46 assists while
Halle Hetzler finished with 28 digs.
The Lutes and Loggers meet again tomorrow evening at 6 p.m.
